Your will initially have additional volume from swelling for 1-2 days after your injections. Some patients enjoy this period, and others prefer their final results, which have settled a few days post-treatment. You may have some lumpiness or bruising for up to a week, as you recover from the treatment.

Avoid the following for the 2 weeks before your treatment: Fish oil, ibuprofen, aspirin, dental work, immunization, and illness. To limit swelling/bruising, avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 2 days before and after your treatment.

Swelling is a typical side effect following a lip filler treatment. To manage and reduce this swelling, several steps can be taken. Firstly, applying a cold compress or ice pack to the lips can help alleviate inflammation, but it's crucial not to apply direct pressure. Sleeping with one's head slightly elevated can also prevent the accumulation of fluid in the lip area. Before undergoing the procedure, it's advisable to avoid blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and certain supplements like vitamin E and fish oil, as these can exacerbate swelling. Staying well-hydrated by drinking ample water can assist in flushing out toxins that might contribute to prolonged swelling. Lastly, it's wise to avoid strenuous activities for 24-48 hours post-treatment, as intense physical exertion can further increase swelling.
